By signing ”The Tractor” from AaB, hummel is getting more than just another world class handballer under contract. Everyone with a slight interest in the game of handball knows that Boldsen is not like the rest of them

29 years of age, 187 centimetres and weighing in close to 100 kilo, the man from Helsingør is and has never been afraid to speak out and express his unreserved opinion on everything from ladies handball to national team coaches and TV commentators. This behaviour has caused commotion more than once but that doesn’t seem to bother Boldsen.

Actually, Boldsen has been wearing hummel shoes for quite a few years now without having a formalised contract with the Danish sportswear company. However, hummel promotion manager Lars Westergaard was very keen on getting Boldsen to sign on the dotted line as soon as possible:

“Joachim Boldsen is the perfect ambassador for hummel. Widely acknowledged as one of the best offensive as well as defensive playmakers in the world, Boldsen is very compatible with the hummel brand and the identity we want to convey to the outside world. He was an integral part of our successful Back in Black campaign in January and will be one of our key characters in future hummel marketing campaigns”, Westergaard states

“He’s not afraid to follow his heart and if that means going upstream, he’ll do just that. On top of that he is the kind of handballer that doesn’t mind taking a beating if it contributes to the team’s success and you have to respect that attitude. Moreover, he will be the star in the Danish Handball League next season playing for one of the many hummel teams, AaB Håndbold. Having signed Lars Christiansen a few years ago we’re proud to say that we now have the two most charismatic players in the Danish national team”, Lars Westergaard concludes.

The contract between Joachim Boldsen and hummel International was signed on the 19^th of June and expires 30^th of June 2010.
