Corporate Social Responsibility

hummel dissociates any production that represents dangerous, insulting or slavery working conditions for adults as well as children. 

  • The legislation in the respective country on occupation, production, wages and working hours must be kept.
  • The employees must be treated equal with respect and dignity.
  • There must be no discrimination of religion, race or sex.
  • hummel will not accept use of corporal punishment, threats of violence or other forms of mental or physical coercion or abuse, or sexual harassment of the employees.
  • hummel will not conduct business with any supplier that uses forced or involuntary labour, whether prison, bonded, indentured or otherwise.
  • The supplier must provide a healthy and safe working environment.
  • The supplier must maintain proper lighting and ventilation.
  • The supplier must properly maintain and service all machinery. 
  • The supplier must keep aisles and exists accessible at all times.   
  • The supplier must have a well-known emergency medical and evacuation plan for the employees.
  • The supplier must provide clean toilet conditions for the employees
  • The employees must have a neat clean place to eat away from production.

hummel will enter into a constructive dialogue with the supplier to improve the working environment and conditions for the employees. hummel will request adequate action plans to correct monitoring findings and undertake follow-up visits to ensure improvements are made. If improvements do not progress in manner acceptable to hummel, hummel will terminate the supplier relationship.
